Thanks to Obama and our Congress, my job is in limbo, particularly in 6 months when our Federal grant money disappears. So I've decided to make a list of all the things that are "dream" jobs for me. The criteria for a dream job are simply 1) would be a mix of routine and fly by the seat of my pants 2) would push me to my limits be it creative limits, limits of my patience, etc. and 3) I'm passionate about it.

1) Be a speaker for Girls' and Women's conferences

I have felt passionately about this for the past 6 years. I have had multiple opportunities to speak to teenage girls, but it has been a dream to have this be a full-time thing.

2) Own a coffee-shop/art gallery

I almost did this. 3 years ago this summer I was in Dubuque, Iowa working with a church plant. Myself and 2 friends there even went so far as to find property and meet with a realtor. Sometimes I still wonder if we could've pulled it off.

3) Work at a bakery

I mean bakery in the cutesy, girly, boutique bakery sense of the term, not in the making of bread and pastries. I would even be happy working in a doggy bakery. I find baking and cake decorating to be quite relaxing and tense all at the same time - which I love!

4) A writer

I love to write. I have started a couple of books, but haven't had the time to finish either. One day, I'm promising myself, I will finish at least one book - I don't care if it ever gets published

5) Be a photographer

I have a love for photography and have the creativity to get good shots. I simply, to this date, have not had the patience to teach myself the photography fundamentals, nor have had I had the opportunity to take photography classes.

6) Be a painter

While I find painting relaxing, the only type of painting people would actually pay me for is the kind involving a large roller brush, painters tape, and 4 walls.

So what are your dream jobs??

I love my job as a K4 teacher, but more than anything I want to be a stay at home mom. Now to make it the most awesome job in the world would be to get paid to do it!
