It started out fine. I went to bed first (thanks to my old lady habits), and Andy trailed in a little later. We were sleeping just fine. Then at 1:55 am, our world crashed down! Ok, not our world, but the mirror we have in the shower. See we got this mirror at Bed Bath & Beyond back in Memphis. Andy wanted a fogless mirror so he picked one out. Well, turns out it pseudo-fogless and the "sure-grip" things that hold it to the wall, aren't so sure or grippy.

We discovered the poor grip at 1:55am. I awake to seeing a creepy, scared Andy with a look of sheer terror on his face, hovering over me, grabbing me and screaming as loud as he possibly can! I'm talking a sound that was a cross between a lion, grizzly bear, and coyote. Why? The mirror fell into the bathtub making a huge crashing sound similar to a door being busted in, or people turning the kitchen upside down breaking things. I had kinda heard it in my sleep but knew what it was and rolled over...to be greeted by Andy in his aforementioned state.

Now it was dark in the room, so all I can see is this guy with a terrifying look on his face, hovering over me, holding me tight, and screaming louder than I ever thought possible from a human. So my reaction is to also scream loud (think seagull combined with roller-coaster screams) and start kicking to get the guy off me. Logic would tell me about 5 seconds after I started doing this that it was just Andy freaked out by the noise and I should probably calm him down rather than kick him.

It took about 30 minutes, and sleeping with the lights on, for me to calm down. Andy's heart was racing as was mine. Eventually we did get back to sleep, and I at least slept well. I'll assume Andy did too since he's still sleeping. The good news that we discovered from this was that should anyone ever try to break in and hurt us, our screams would probably be enough to cause them to flee. I almost wish it had been videotaped...we could've easily taken the prize money on America's Funniest Videos!!

Moral of the story: Don't buy a fogless mirror from Bed, Bath, & Beyond...they're nothing but trouble
