I'm so excited to be writing this post! Why you may ask? Because today's question is the perfect jumpstart to a new theme for my blog, at least for the next month or so. (Warning...this post may be a tad long)
The best decision I've made this month is to complete 8 races by the end of the year! I'm so excited about getting in great shape once again...the last time I was in really good shape was when I played soccer in high school. February 27th will be my first 5k of the year, and my third one so far.
Saturday I purchased a Nike+ wristband, to go with my running shoes and was able to register for the February race for FREE! And boy was that a great purchase. Tonight, Andy and I went for a run/walk and I was able to try out the wristband. I walked/ran 2.4 miles in 32:19. I also burned 301 calories! How fun to be able track my calories, miles ran, minutes I've gone, and the pace that I'm running! (I kept my pace around 14 minutes for most of it.)
Then when you go to the website (comes up automatically when you put the sensor into your computer's USB), it keeps track of your run, and even lets you set goals, has running programs for you and more - all of this for $60! If you ask me, that seems like a pretty good deal.
Currently, I've set the goal to run 30 miles in 30 days...which shouldn't be too difficult. Also, I've planned to burn 4,000 in 30 days. This may be a little harder, but hopefully not!
