Yesterday was a good first day of my Healthy Start. I ate healthy all day and stayed within my calorie goal. In addition I had lots of fresh veggies yesterday including green beans, broccoli, corn and carrots. I also squeezed in a hearty work out! I worked out for about an hour doing the gazelle, squats, stairclimber, situps and crunches. I then cleaned house for about 45 minutes. Combine all of that and I burned between 400-500 calories! Today is shaping up to be another good day. I'm not really able to get up much earlier than I already do without being completely grumpy, so my workouts will be in the evening. Tonight is dinner with Andy's parents, so it will be an even later workout than normal (probably won't start until 9:30!) Thanks to Renee and Maria for their encouragement! I'm definitely relying on the Lord to help me have self-control and not turn to food when I'm stressed.

You're getting a great start. And good idea to keep a record of how you're doing.

Having accountability is huge. I attribute my weight loss success to it! Good luck on your journey! It'll be well worth the sacrifices. And remember: "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!"

I'm eating Paleo and that has given me a huge energy boost and to get through my long workouts. Pure dark chocolate (90% cacao and higher) is super food and will give you tons of energy and taste great. If you make fruit smoothies, add in the dark chocolate and it will give you the caffeine you need for the day and it is much better for you than coffee.

We joined the Y and I go daily. I have found the best calorie burner for the least amount of time is the Arc Trainer and the bike. Once a week I do 30 miles on the bike and in one sitting you can burn 1050 calories. Takes about 1hr 45min to do but you will will feel great afterward.

Also you can join http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ for free and it will let you put in all your food intake for the day and exercise and help you monitor your weight lose. It is a pretty cool website for accountability.

Savannah, thanks for the dark chocolate tip for smoothies - love that idea! Also, I'm going to check out that website you mentioned - seems like a good way to keep track of everything. I appreciate it!
